Similarly, Tjörn enjoys beautiful natural harbours for pleasure boats. Private guest harbours and those under local authority management along with a large number of other harbours offer moorings and boathouses for rent all year round.

The highly esteemed guest harbours at Skärhamn and on the island of Åstol have received the Tourist Association's award for high levels of service and quality. And the special blue flag, which indicates ports meeting good EU standards, can be seen flying in several of Tjörn's harbours.

The boatsman with a taste for adventure and who has a mind to sail the coast of Bohuslän can visit the Bohuslän museum at Uddevalla and obtain there information on historic and interesting places to examine en route.

Among the most exciting of these are Pater Noster, Hättan and Altarholmen, all within the Tjörn municipality.
